Further info on Low Carbon Club CIC
I would like to introduce Low Carbon Club Community Interest Company (LCCCIC). It's aims are to collaborate and develop a project that we are looking in the first instance to base in the Manchester region.
For 5 years Low Carbon Club was the delegate department of a young successful events company 3ppp. 3ppp organises premier national events working with central and local government. It became obvious that there was a requirement for a catalyst to help create greater inclusion and collaboration from Public/Private and 3rd Sector. In addition, there was a need to develop cost-effective, improved knowledge, transfer opportunities between these sectors. As well as this we needed to find ways to include academia and youth into the agenda. We recognised there were opportunities e.g. to include and engage with creative minds at Universities as well as supporting tomorrow's young solution providers with educational packages around environmental issues to help them now.
Since Covid there is now an even greater requirement to help enable more effective ways of communication and collaboration.
Our project will allow our recruited staff to achieve recognised employment skills and become confident sales staff. The extra staff will enable Low Carbon Club CIC to expand funded conference event services that then generate additional income, e.g. promoting live virtual links to national events and arranging funded CPD training for Public Sector.
Low Carbon Club trialled these services in the previous 5 years with 3ppp, prior to becoming a social enterprise.
The training provided will involve: Life-skills Coaching & personal development.
NLP based sales training
Climate change and sustainable development awareness
Telephone and e-mail marketing skills
Round table and events organising
Facilitation techniques and skills to be used within aspects of the events
To achieve these goals, just over a year ago, the 3 present Directors of LCCCIC, decided with 3ppp directors Lee Etchells and Emma Maxwell's full support to change the status of Low Carbon Club and make it a separate independent company and develop it into a social enterprise.
Low Carbon Club is now a Community Interest Company (LCCCIC) and is a company limited by guarantee.
Under the direction of Ron Pusey, a Low Carbon Club Director, there will be training and employment of four (4) disabled military veterans/socially disadvantaged individuals in the first year. These trained staff will deliver income generating services for the CIC whilst we also support their psychological needs. Ron is an experienced clinical therapist at his practice
stopanxietytoday and a trainer with over 30 years experience.
Low Carbon Club CIC is grateful for the full support from Lee and Emma the Directors and founders of 3ppp who have kindly offered a contract to supply funded delegate places at their events Low Carbon Scotland/Britain and Healthy Cities Events. We look forward to working with 3ppp on future events when Covid allows and appreciate the opportunity for our trainees. In addition, the Directors of 3ppp have agreed to work with Low Carbon Club CIC to advise and help develop additional income generating opportunities with their contacts and others.
The CIC is now applying for grant funding, seeking accommodation and partners in this venture. The CIC as Low Carbon Club has a credible track record of delivery and has capable experienced directors with the skills required to deliver a successful project.
